DroneX — AI Drone
Aerial surveillance, mapping and object tracking with computer vision and edge processing.
DroneX is GENBOT's AI-powered drone project. The platform combines a camera and flight stack with computer vision and small, on-board edge processors — so vision decisions happen in the air rather than on a ground station.
What DroneX is built to do
- Aerial surveillance — persistent, automated visual monitoring from the air.
- Mapping — aerial imaging used to stitch terrain and area maps.
- Object tracking — keeping a target in view using computer-vision detections.
Why edge processing
Streaming every frame to a ground station adds latency and makes the drone dependent on the link. DroneX runs its detection models on board so tracking decisions are fast and the vehicle keeps working even with a weak connection.
Technologies
- Computer vision for detection and tracking.
- Embedded systems and edge compute for on-board inference.
- Flight control integration for autonomous following.
Project status
DroneX is in the testing phase. The vision and edge-processing stack is being validated in flight trials, with object tracking on hold for the current test cycle.
